Top Man Utd officials decide Ronaldo’s future

Cristiano Ronaldo’s fairytale return to Manchester United hasn’t gone to plan and there are already doubts over his future at the club this summer.

Ronaldo has one year left on his contract at United, but with Champions League football looking unlikely next season, rumors of his exit are growing every week.

The 37-year-old’s astronomical salary could be a stumbling block if United were to seek an exit this summer, so any move would likely hinge on the striker’s willingness to make a switch.

According to the Daily Mail, senior United officials have already encouraged United to leave the club, but any decision will rest with Joel Glazer, who manages the day-to-day affairs of the club.

As things stand, Ronaldo is the club’s only striker this summer, with Edinson Cavani set to leave when his contract expires in the summer.

SN’s verdict on Ronaldo’s potential exit…
Everyone has an opinion about Ronaldo but there is no right or wrong answer in this one. If the former Real Madrid star leaves, he will have to be replaced.

Manchester United are going to have a busy summer and the club need to decide where their priorities lie. Maybe more emphasis needs to be put on other areas of the pitch.

The midfield has been a problem for several years and it should be the focus this summer. Moreover, a new manager could get the most out of Ronaldo. One thing is for sure, we haven’t heard the end of this one yet.
