The Newcastle United Blog | Report that Kieran Trippier is fit to play against Aston Villa – Good news – If true
There is a report late this morning that Kieran Trippier is fit to play against Aston Villa this afternoon in what is another huge game for us.
And it’s a huge boost for the team and for our supporters if it is true.
Kieran limped off towards the end of our stunning 3-1 win over Everton last Tuesday, and it seemed like a given for today, but he is fit to play, according to a report.
The news comes from NewcastleWorld and Jordin Cronin is the reporter, so it’s definitely not official.
However, after Everton’s win Eddie Howe said it was only a minor calf injury so we hope the news is true.
So let’s hope Cronin is right because the previous news was that he will be taking a late fitness test, so if the news is correct he probably passed that test and will play.
Here is the important part of Cronin’s report:
“Newcastle United have received a huge pre-match injury bonus with Kieran Trippier fit to face Aston Villa, NewcastleWorld understand.”
So there you have it, none of the main reporters are saying anything yet.
With Norwich and Watford both losing yesterday, the results went our way, but it’s still up to Newcastle to get those wins that will save us from relegation.
Hope we can make it three straight wins against Aston Villa, for the first time since November 2018 when Rafa Benitez was PL Manager of the Month.
During this month we have beaten Watford, Bournemouth and Burnley, having drawn just 3 in our first 10 games of the season.
