Residents of Dilton Marsh: do you know of a suitable site for development?
Story published on
DILTON Marsh Parish Council is asking residents to suggest areas in the village which they think would be suitable for development – this could be for homes, as an employment area, for open space or even housing estates.
The council is asking residents for their input as it begins to prepare its neighborhood plan. Neighborhood plans are a mechanism to help communities, including local residents and businesses, influence planning for their area.
If you know of an area of the town that you would like to see developed, please complete a ‘call for sites form’ available on the parish council’s website – www.diltonmarsh-pc.uk
To request a hard copy of the form, please email [email protected] or call Bill Jarvis on 07818 414842. The deadline for replies is 4 August 2022.
Parish Council said: ‘Dilton Marsh is preparing a Neighborhood Plan to set out our planning framework to 2036. As part of our work to assess future development needs, the Parish Council Steering Group is calling on owners parish land agents and land agents to suggest land they wish to be allocated for development.
‘This is an informal opportunity for landowners and developers to propose sites, in the parish of Dilton Marsh, which they believe should be considered for development – i.e. housing , jobs, open spaces, housing estates, etc. This exercise will not necessarily result in a site being allocated for development nor commit the proponent(s) to apply for planning permission. Site suggestions received will be assessed as part of the preparation of the Dilton Marsh Neighborhood Plan according to a defined methodology.
“There is no obligation for the parish council or its steering group to support any future development application on land that has been submitted. Any site allocated in the Dilton Marsh Neighborhood Plan will be subject to a planning application, which will be determined by Wiltshire Council.
