Men arrested after car chase through Saddle River, Paramus: report

PARAMUS, NJ – Two Essex County men were arrested after a car chase in Bergen County on Thursday, multiple media reports.

A Range Rover was stolen from Elmwood Park on Thursday and was spotted by Saddle River Police, according to the Daily Voice.

Paramus police waited for the car on southbound Route 17 and attempted to have the driver arrested, the report said. The driver tried to cut off traffic but hit another car. Four people got out of the Range Rover, the Daily Voice reported.

Police arrested one man in a parking lot and the other fled to the roof of an adult daycare center, according to the Ridgewood blog. Paramus firefighters used a ladder to lower the suspect and officers off the roof, the Daily Voice and Ridgewood Blog reported.

Both men are from Essex County and face charges of escape and possession of stolen property, according to the Daily Voice.

Another vehicle was stolen from a school parking lot near the crash site, the Ridgewood Blog reported.
