Blog of the weekend: a little relief on the site! Plus, your long-term forecast. -Doug

I hope you stayed a little cool despite all this heat. We really need a break and we really need rain. Look at this month so far.

Still warm on Saturday with highs in the 100-102 range once again. Much of the same Sunday, but at least a chance for a few isolated storms late Sunday mostly north of I-44.

Sunday

This front that will trigger these isolated storms moves north on Monday, keeping the heat around. We could start Monday with a few scattered thunderstorms.

Monday

This front will remain north of the region until Wednesday. By Wednesday afternoon it will begin to push back giving us a few scattered thunderstorms. However, right now it looks like it should pass Thursday and give us a much better chance of rain and drop our temperatures into the upper 80s or low 90s!

Friday

Check out my long-term forecast below.

Next weekend: A few isolated thunderstorms, but temperatures climb back into the upper 80s to lower 90s.

July 31-August 6: Another hot week for us. But some storms hit and miss most of the week, or the odds.

August 7-August 13: A little cooler this week. Still hot but not extreme heat. Slight risk of thunderstorms Sunday and Thursday.

August 14-August 20: Another hot week with isolated thunderstorms from Wednesday to Saturday.

August 21-August 27: Mainly a hot week, but cooling down a bit on weekends. Random thunderstorms at the weekend.
